    Monitor Refresh Rate

What is the refresh rate of your monitor? Mine is 75 hertz and it isn't too good on my eyes. Is it me, or my monitor?

    P.S. It's a 17 inch monitor at 1024 by 768.

I also have a 17" monitor at 1024*768, but my refresh rate is at 60. That was the default, I have never changed it.

I dont think I have ever complained about my eyes hurting though, maybe its too bright?

They don't really hurt. They just get tired and things get blurry.

Are you sure that's not just the lack of sleep and/or alcohol? :P

I run my monitor 1152x864@72Hz, and I'm on my pc for probably about 10hrs a day with contacts in, and my eyes don't get tired, and the only blurryness is from my contacts drying out.

60 hertz!?!?!?!? Holy crap...I can't run anything under 85... I can literally look at a monitor and tell what refresh rate its running at. 60 hertz gives me headaches...**shudder**

    I run 1024x768x32 85hz refresh rate.

My eyes don't hurt or get tired at lower refresh rates, but I like it higher.

60hz? AAH are you crazy? My eyes would fall out... my eyes are weak, I can't stand anything under 85hz... My nice new monitor will run 1024x768 @ 120hz, aahhh... so relaxed on the eyes

Mine is set to 1280x1024 @ 60Hz. I don't seem to have any trouble with that, I just switched it to 70Hz to see if it makes any difference.

I guess with all the various technologies I've used in the last 25 years or so, my eyes have got used to looking at what they are presented with.
