How many people here actually use AOL?

If you ignore the cost and most of the people who use it, it's not a bad ISP.

    Ha. Ha. Ha.

You ever used AOL, RoD? Around here, at least, it's almost 100% reliable. I always got good speeds and never got booted (for something that was their fault).

That has to be a troll. AOL is a useless ISP. You can't dial-up to it from "alternative" operating systems (i.e. not Windows), due to the fact you HAVE to use the advert-ridden piece of resource hugging #### client, the e-mail and newsgroup handling of the client is useless, and again, plastered with spam and pop up adverts, ping rates are horrendous for online games, most, if not all of their "exclusive content" is mere linkage to external websites available from any other ISP.

    AOL sux.

Not a troll, sorry. I used AOL for about 6 years (since 3.0) without hardly any complaints besides the fact that some people didn't think I was 1337.

Hmmz, I used it for just a little over a year. For one reason and one reason only. I had that year free

No, I didn't really have any problems dialing up and connecting. Well, aside from the fact that version 6.0 had some issues with Win ME so that it would dial twice everytime. But, it's not like I used the AOL "features". I used it to get online. As soon as it dialed-up, I went straight to Internet Explorer.

I would never pay for that service. For $9.95 a month I get the same thing I got with AOL plus better connection speeds and MORE local connection phone numbers to dial.
