What car would you like to most have that you have a realistic chance of getting? Meaning don't include Ferraris, Porches, Vipers, ect... unless you could actually afford such cars (only cars that are in you're financial range).

I've been looking at buying a car lately, and I've seen some nice cars (along with a lot of crappy ones too lol). My price range is anywhere from around 2k-4k, so I'm looking at cars from years of 92-98. I think the newer (95 and on) Dodge Intrepids look pretty cool, but they're a little bit too big. Honda Accords, also. look nice and are very reliable. My friend has an Infiniti GT, which I think is such a bad ass car, but he plans on trading it in so he can get a 2003 Honda Accord.

So what kind of car would you like to be able to get, or if you truly like your car what kind is it?

EDIT: On a side note, I look at used cars pretty much everynight now, and it has become quite entertaining. I love the cars with the tight rims. Like this one and this one

EDIT #2: haha go figure there's already a thread on cars, but I think this thread is a little bit different.

First, for me, a car is a contrivance that gets me from where I am to where I want to be. I don't want the car to be any source of trouble, simply transport. As a result, I don't care what car I drive.

Second, I browsed the car sales sites you linked. It struck me that cars in the US are almost free!

That is almost free. I couldn't hazzard a guess as to what such a car, of that age would cost here.

I don't think we have that type of car here, the only models under Chevrolet are Alero, Blazer, Corvette and Trans Sport.

A 6/94 Civic DX 3d 5g standard, good condition, with no extras shows as 46900 kroner, using 6.9 kroner to a dollar, (wow, isn't the dollar weak right now - I normally reckon on 1$ = 8 Kroner!), gives $6800. To that you would have to add the cost of the extras which are also expensive here.

We have a Toyota Corolla. Quite old. Starts first time everytime, but within a minute it is firing on only 2-3 cylinders. This continues until the lousy automatic choke realises it is flooding the engine and backs out - can take up to 10 minutes. The other problem I have with it is the direction indicators stop working in cold weather if you turn the heater on.

We don't have Oldsmobile at all here. Does Oldsmobile = Chevrolet = General Motors? I noticed we do have a Chevrolet Alero here. and used to have an Opel Cavalier. Opel = GM.

Yes... Oldsmobile is a GM product... and unfortunately, there are talks of cutting the entire Oldsmobile line... GM has so many different products and some are just not the most profitable for them, so they're cutting one or two. I'm not sure whether they decided to cut Oldsmobile or Pontiac.

Hmmz, well being a Honda guy myself, if you decide to go the Honda route I would reccomend an Accord over a Civic. I currently have a 2001 Accord Coupe LX 4 Cyl. It's a nice car. Compare the Accords of this year to the Civic's of this year and OMG! Even around the same price region (~$17,000 new) the differences between the car is crazy. While I had my car at the dealership for maintenance they gave me a rental civic. Yuck is all I have to say. Just yuck.

So, if I were you I'd try to go Accord. Unless you prefer the Civic's styling of course . I sold my '87 Accord hatchback LX-i (top of the line, with 200,000 miles) for about $2,600 with rims, header/catback exaust, and Sony Mobile ES CD deck. That was nearly 2 years ago and I still see it on the road today. So, it probaly has near 230,000 miles on it. You could pick up a 90-93 EX for in your price range. Above that year you'll probably be looking at LX or DX models, or high mileage cars, etc... My car is now worth about $11,000.
