    my friend is try to partition his drive to have linux and windows, but he can't seem to figure it out. he'll probably be showing up on here sometime for help. Is Linux easy to learn (is it anything like c++)?

    They're too completely different things...

    And it depends on what he wants to do...if he just wants a decent-looking GUI with some programs, no sound, no internet, no printer support, no anything else support...then Linux shouldn't be hard at all to learn

    Otherwise he'll become quite good with man pages and the -h switch.

    I tried to get 3d acceleration for my 3d rage pro card and somehow deleted modules needed to start x server. now the module is gone, can't start x server, so....that sucks
    Ohh common, re-installing because X didn't start?
    Configure it again by yourself, edit the /etc/X11/x86config file or just type as root: xf86config, and answer right to the questions.
