should I get a job as a programmer, or join the air force?

I'm starting the second half of my corporate training, and even though I don't have a degree, by the time I'm done with this co-op, I think I'll be pretty well prepared for an entry level position.

But, I would like to get a degree, and the only way for me to do it at this point would be to join the air force.

Even though I'm not thrilled about investing the next four years of my life there, I've heard from friends that they've had the time of their life.

Plus I'm tired of working out in the real world, and want to do something else with my life.

What do you think I should do? Right now I'm leaning about 75% towards the air force.

I know I might be able to get my employer to pay for the degree, but I'm thinking that would be a hassle, and I'd probably like to devote my free time to gaining more knowledge as a programmer rather than a degree and studying what I already know(if I was in that position).

But I'm not sure, any advice would be great.
