Does anyone use Star Office 6.0? If so, what do you think of it?
I currently use Star Office 5.2, which was free. Overall I like it, but find some things awkward, and it's stability could be improved.
My question is - is it worth me paying $75 for Star Office 6.0, or stick with 5.2 for the time being?
What the hell is StarOffice? Sounds like some retard TV show.
StarOffice? It's Sun's Office package, I suppose you could say it's equivalent to MS Office. The older 5.2 version used to be completely free to download & use, but they now charge for the new version.
Just tried out OpenOffice, available at
www.openoffice.org
It is built on the original StarOffice 5.2 source, and is LGPL. However, it seems an imporovement over Star Office 5.2. I think I like this.
I use open office. I'm not exactly one of those word processing power users, but it fits my needs just fine.
I'm using OpenOffice and it's very good.
For example u can create the whole M$ stuff, PowerPoint presentations......
And it's free and u can use it for Windows and for Linux.

I have used star office before, it was good, I think I will try the new openoffice Davros expected. I dont use M$ word that often, but not using it at all would be better
