Seem to be getting this again every day....

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

i got the error earlier this morning.. just waited a few minutes and hit refresh and it was okay.

yesterday, the site wouldn't load at all.. just said it was loading for a while, then said something about not connecting to a remote server. *shrugs*
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I get that error at least once or twice each morning, but I just wait a couple of minutes and try again with no problems.

Yesterday I had the same problem as you MadHatter, a message saying it couldn't connect to the webpage. Had this problem most of the morning.

I must say I have not had the DB error for a few days, but there have been several periods, some of which have been extended, where the board was basically 404'ing. Yesterday, and today.

Look on the bright side, if the site is down, it is down for everyone, and your not missing anything, with the db error, there was always the worry that something was happening and you couldn't get in on it!

it seems to really happen during high traffic or excessive use, maybe it just needs more bandwidth to mysql or something to that extent?

Yeah, I got that error quite a few times the last couple of days. It was the first time I had ever seen that error, so I was a little perturbed. It's nice to know that it's just a minor problem that everyone experiences.

Way to make lemonade out of lemons. Bravo for positive thinking.
