I picked up a copy at WalMart for under $9. Just watch Luke Wilson throughout the movie, he cracks me up.

Doesn't anyone else like older movies, pre 70's-80's? There were lots of great movies made in the 30's, 40's and 50's. Yes, most of them were black and white. So? Directors used that to their advantage, especially in film noir. Ashphalt Jungle, Double Indemnity, The Apartment, On The Waterfront, bunches more I remember scenes and plots from but not names offhand.
I know a lot of people on the board are teens or very early twenties, but come on!
I don't want to trash other people's choices, no matter how much some may deserve it

, but a lot of good movies were made prior to 1985 or 1990. Heck, even Saturday Night Fever is a good iconic movie for its time.

As far as movies go, Pulp Fiction.

There aren't very many movies around that i think are truely good movies.

My definition of good movie - A movie that i can watch all the way through and not lose interest in, even during the more boring parts of the rising action.

You want people who watch older movies? You should meet some freinds of mine! When they were younger their parents wouldn't let them watch any movies that wern't G...that left out most of the newer stuff.

Thanks to them I was introduced to Harvey, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, Thouroughly Modern Milly(It's a scream!), Diamonds are a Girls Best freind, and a host of others who's names have traveled into obscurity.

I love old movies, they have a magic that most of the movies now don't have.

If by 'magic' you mean plot and good acting then I agree.

Though I tend to stick with books, my list of favorite movies is sorted by actors:
Movies with Steve Martin (funny), Sean Connery (too cool), and Jean Claude van Damme (swoon

). I prefer any kind of comedy or anything *ahem* attention grabbing.

That's right. Plot, cinematography, acting, direction, yada yada, were all more important then than stuff like making $100 million the first couple weeks, explosions, special effects, etc. Those movies are ok, fun to watch, but in a few years they'll look like an original Nintendo game. What movies will be watched in 100 years? Casablanca or Armageddon? Could someone with a name and face like Humphrey Bogart be a star today? I doubt it, but he was one of the greatest actors the movies have seen.
