    PHP 4.3.0 released

    PHP 4.3.0 Released!
    [27-Dec-2002] The PHP developers are pleased to announce the immediate availability of PHP 4.3.0, the latest and greatest version of this extremely popular and widely used scripting language.

    This release contains a multitude of changes, bug fixes and improvements over the previous one, PHP 4.2.3. It further elevates PHP's standing as a serious contender in the general purpose scripting language arena. Please see the full release announcement.

    crap, the apache2 support is still experimental?? that sucks!
    OH well.
    I do like the improvements they made to installation, while still allowing for traditional manipulation of conf files. Can't wait to test it out fully.

    Yeah

    But seems, that now PHP can beat ASP with the new Zend Engine v.2

    But I hope, that PHP 5, that releases next year in the summer, is standard for Apache 2.0

    I love PHP, want a simple and powerfull language, specially if you combine it with your favourite DBMS

    i was experimenting with ASP for a while, but now i wanna start with PHP because it's built in support for My SQL

    is reading the manual that comes from the Site enough to get me started or do i have to get a book to learn properly?

    the manual is good only as a reference....
    www.devshed.com is the way to go, it's how i learned it, they have material for both the newbie and the veteran.
