    Cg.

Anybody know anything about "Cg"? What exactly is it? Is it
simliar to C/C++? Is this yet another thing I'm going to have to
learn in order to make rad games? How is it different from
    OpenGL or Direct3D?

Jeez, the technology is advancing faster than I can learn it... It's
    so freaking frustrating!

Cg is an API and HW(?) independant high level shading language,
to be used in conjunction with direct-x or opengl.

    FAQ:
    http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=cg_faq#language

    Developer Page:
    http://developer.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=cg_main

edit: you might also note that the OpenGL ARB chose GLSlang(sp?) over Cg for OpenGL 2.0's shading language.
