Thread: Is this correct about the 4th dimension?

actually napkin (and aran) I believe you are both exactly right on the money. Let me say this:we would need a truly three dimensional monitor (well a three dimensional viewport) in order to view objects that exist in the four dimensions. Do we agree on that?

Is it possible the 4th dimension is forward in time, and the 5th dimension is backwards in time?

you can't "picture" 4-d. much like you can't picture an electron, but you know it must exist.

I agree, although electrons can easily be pictured because when you come right down to it they are still 3d beings (the quantum number 'm' used in electron configurations represents the 3d orientation of the orbital of the electron) , and there is nothing that says the fourth dimension must exist because even if it does exist it would never effect us and we could never be a part of it, where as electrons have a very big impact on our lives.

on a totally absolutely unrelated side note.. while I was searching for the book.. I found a document on gutenburg called "the square rot of 4 to the precision of 1 million digits".
This peaked my curiosity, and I got about 1/4th of the way down the document before I caught on.. umm lol.. that is funny.
