I don't know if he's serious, but he's wrong. Don't do anything illegal. Try to unsubscribe first. If you have the capacities, and you suspect it's a smaller corp or mailing list, get a huge (50MB+) picture featuring a huge "unsubscribe" text. Call it "IDontwantyourjunkpleasestopspammingme.jpg" and send it. Most of them understand what you are saying if you do it once or twice. You'll need the capacity for it, but then, if you have a flatrate at home, and dont need your comp when you are sleeping and at work/school, you have about 16 hours of free capacities... and it's completely legal to trash their inbox, after all, they do it every day. ( ever got a 1.5 GB attachment *g* I never got any mail from them after that... ). You might want to seperate it in smaller junks because your own mailprovider might not be fond of one large attachment *g*
Filtering might be the easiest way though.
I think in europe we have good chances to make spamming illegal... they approved the first laws leading in the right direction.
-
I'd personally take the illegal route. It's more effective, plus you save many other people the mysery of recieving junk mail.
-
i realy hate viruses, so I'm not going to be one who creates them.
as for the 50+MB mail, that wont be a big problem, becaus I have DSL
but i'll wait a bit and see what will happen
I hope this law will be there soon (very soon)
-
Yeah you hate viruses but you didn't think about it.
I also don't like virii that multiply to infect the whole internet, but a virii that I create myself will target just one computer and no innocents will get infected by it.
-
>>plus you save many other people the mysery of recieving junk mail.
then I'll say to those other people what nvoigt said to me:
spam them to death.
-
You won't know them. Too many people suffer privately. About 98% of the cases are unreported. There is no effective means to regulate email spam.
-
Let's say I have the knowledge to create a virus (but i don't),
and it puts their systems down for one day. this company will lose money becaus of that. I'dont think they will hesitate to sue me for it (i know i wouldn't if my company lost money)
-
that is true, I won't know them.
but did you knew me befor this thread?
what I mean is, when someone is having the same problem and ask me for advice, that is the answer I will give them
-
You would be foolish if you let them trace you. BTW I bet you do know how to write a virus, but have not relized it yet. Do you know how to program in 'C'?
-
yes i know C, and i would probably be able to write some code that does damage.
But I don't know anything about internet security and stuff. that is why I started this threat.so i'm pretty sure they will be able to trace me.
And I would hate to wake up one morning with the police at my front door.
-
Don't suppose that a virus has to do damage. A virus could simply create text files all over the place with a message such as "Stop sending people junk mail".
Getting traced has to do with location. If you walk into a public center such as a university and anonymously use one of their computers than you can not be traced.
All you need to know in order to write a virus is 'C'.
-
It is just a matter of opinions. You would take the illegal way, I wouldn’t
But this could all be solved if you would be able to hide your e-mail address.
-
troll_king your such a reatard...
do you think people are gonna send spam from their account... no they spoof the mail... ISP clamp down on spammers real fast...
try sending a virus to [email protected] troll king you retard
-
You are a coward MechanicX. I never said anything about spamming. I said to write a virus.
ISP's are every bit as retarded as your family.
-
LOL that wasnt me.....
but I do agree with him(Unregistered) you are a retard
