    printer error

    hey,
first of all, i hope this thread does not annoy anyone!!

second of all, i've started to get strange errors when trying to print tonight. I was trying to pring my bio project and the error showed up. I've tried everything(well not everything i hope because i've got to make it print). I've attached the image of how the error message looks. if anyone can help me fix it, you will be saving my life because there's no way my bio teacher will believe that i broke my printer thing!!!

    thankx

[edit] and yes, the printer cords are connected!!
oh i'm sorry! i didn;t realize my fist was rushing to meet ur face!

Well this should have been in the tech forum, but try the following.

Try restarting the computer, sometimes that alone gets it to print.

If you have the drivers, try to reinstall them.

Try to add another printer, On mine I have like 5 copies of one printer because it just seems to stop printing on one sometimes.

Take out the cables, and put them in again, to make sure there is a good connection.

Thats all I can think of :P

Also, have you tired printing different files, or does the error occur when printing a certain file?

Everytime ppl get that msg it's just that the printer is powered off or unplugged, well most of the time.

    >>Try restarting the computer, sometimes that alone gets it to print.

    the first thing i did

    >> If you have the drivers, try to reinstall them.

reinstalled the printer driver atleast 40 times

    >> Try to add another printer, On mine I have like 5 copies of one printer because it just seems to stop printing on one sometimes.

    same here

    >> Take out the cables, and put them in again, to make sure there is a good connection.

done that twice (once with comp turned on and once with off)

    >>Also, have you tired printing different files, or does the error occur when printing a certain file?
yup, tried printing with different files and from different user accounts...nothing

    >> Everytime ppl get that msg it's just that the printer is powered off or unplugged, well most of the time.

it's plugged, but even if the power is off, the printer turns on by itself when a printing request has been made.

Wow. All of my suggestions failed. Have you tried to install new hardware and allow windows/linux to detect the drivers for you instead of using ones from the manufacturer? Update the drivers?
    A new printer cable?

I really dont know what else there is to try. Sorry.
