... ?
Were you trying to prove something?
Oy, but the discombobulation of the time space continuim allows that.
Nah, seriously though, it is the spacing in between lines that doesn it.
Sorry, thats not equalateral.
Check out my handy little diagram. I got the hypotnuse using pythaogoras and i rounded down the decimal places
true face, but does anyone remember a2 + b2 = c2??

Your way of determining if it was an equilateral triangle is invalid because the pythagorean thereom only applies to right triangles (only right triangles have a hypotenuse and can directly use the pythagorean thereom) Equilateral triangles have all 60 degree sides.Originally posted by face_master

Sure looks like he did it on a right triangle to me. The contention was that right triangles could be equilateral, so he used pythagoras.

but thats just the thing right triangles CANT be equilateralOriginally posted by Govtcheez

if he's contending it's a right equalateral triangle, than you can disprove that hypothesis with pythagoras, since it applies to all rights.
hello, internet!
I cant believe people are arguing this. Once I read it I thought it was a joke. Cant you see from the stars that the bottom is not the same length as the left (height). Just because he used 5 stars on each side means absolutely nothing. I can do mine with buildings. Ill use 4 CN Towers for the left, and 5 houses for the bottom. I used 5 buildings on each side, so it must be an equilateral.Originally posted by DavidP

Yes, and the point is, just that fact that you realize that it's a right triangle in order to use the pythagorean thereom then you already know it can't be an equilateral triangle. It doesn't make any sense why you would apply the pythagorean thereom. The fact that it's a right triangle rules out its possibility of being an equilateral!Originally posted by moi

What the heck are all you guys talking about? All I see is 15 snowflakes.
Try not.
Do or do not.
There is no try.

people stop bein so serious. of course the cant be equilateral right triangles. i was joking around b/c of the 5 stars on each side. i was jokingly saying each side had a length of 5 b/c of the 5 stars.
that teaches u that you shouldnt joke around on these boards, especially with the mods, :::watches mods raise their right hand and point it up at a 45 degree angle in front of them:::people stop bein so serious. of course the cant be equilateral right triangles. i was joking around b/c of the 5 stars on each side. i was jokingly saying each side had a length of 5 b/c of the 5 stars.
edit>> see that was a joke, but they probably wont see it as such.
