    >True DSL is slower than cable,
Hmm, I thought at optiman both were about the same

i love my cable i love my cable - sorry i got cable last week and have been excited ever since - i havent yet got round to playing an online black&white game but counterstrike is well cool. i couldn't get ADSL as my exchange has not yet been upgraded but quite frankly in this country it is more expensive and seems to be unreliable

Yup, Govtcheez is stuck on 56K - I used to be able to escape it when I was at school, but since exiting the dorms, I only have a dialup at school, too. The only places I get highspeed is when I'm at work, or visiting a friend at school.

Hey basilisk! You ever try B&W multiplayer? Takes.... soooo..... much..... time..... I know a couple people that played 1 game for 7 hours and still weren't done.
Often I yearn for my 300 Baud modem on my VIC20
LOL! It makes me feel good to know I can get a modem for my Palm pilot that's faster than that (and yes, Hillbillie, this means I'm not going to that website )

I pay 17.99/month for my DSL service...

Right now, I'm connecting at 640kbps...
    I think it's worth it.

In Jersey, before I was able to get cable (I'm a poet)
I asked about DSL, which was available at that time.
I wasn't close enough to a switching station to get
true DSL. Instead, they offered me iDSL for $70 a
month and a two year commitment. I'm amazed
you're getting it at $17/ mo. Another issue with
DSL is it's alleged instabilty and difficult set up.
You have no problems with your DSL? It took me
about a half hour to run a line from my cable box
to my cable modem, to my PC and then run the
    setup program.

All I can say to you, static, is, after what I've read
about DSL, consider yourself among the fortunate
    ones.

    No. Wait. Don't hang up!

    This is America calling!
