    cisco networking curriculum...

Any one else taking it? I use it for a class (with a teacher that just says "read the curriculum" any time we have problems. I find the curriculum to be very poorly written and diffiult to get information out of, adding to the distress. The lack of a physical book to use when not at a computer doesn't help, either.

    sorry, just needed to rant.

Sounds like a crappy teacher to me. Go to the administration of the school and complain that you're not being taught like you should be. Teachers are to teach and guide.....not to tell you to RTFM.

I do not teach Cisco, but Cisco has set up Cisco 1-8 on line- so yes you can look the stuff up on line.

I meant that there isn't a format for me to use when I can't get online. That and the curriculum is next to impossible to load on my home dial-up connection (sometimes it take a while to load even on our LAN at school).

Just curious but what are you guys referring to. I am currently studying to be a CCNA but I am just using the Sybex book. Do you have a CCNA course offered at your university or are you taking a night class?

I had CISCO for my highschool, it was a free course but it sucked. They even gave us like 100 bucks for taking it but it wans't worth it, the teachers were the same way, and its nothing that i didn't already have a general idea on.

I think i'll be ok, i'm enjoying my job at gateway so far.

Taking it at high school. Its amazing that it's even offered, my school spends double its budget on a $million+ sports complex and then complains when chemistry demands new books.

im in the same class too. read, read, read. so far i have no more ability to make a network than i did when we started the class. im just hoping it will improve. in the meantime maybe i can learn a little about programming which sounds much more appealing.
