    what's the world coming to?

What's the world coming to when shows like:
    looney toons
    tom and jerry
    garfeild and friends
aren't on public tv anymore??? i hate the fact that the next generation is growing up on cheap and mind dulling japanese anime (not that all is bad, but the kiddie stuff blows).
    What are we to do?

I cant stand Tom and Jerry. I don't like cartoons that make the kids root for the little guy who's stealing (Jerry) instead of the protective person stopping them (Tom)

!! How could you guys talk about classic cartoons without mentioning Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles!?!? Thats the kinda stuff I grew up on...

Ahhh, forgot about the turtles! I can still sing the whole theme song to them! Of course, maybe I shouldn't brag about that...

TMNT was great, especially the few seasons they were on CBS...for a while there were some awesome shows on cbs sat. mornings. Sonic the hedgehog had an awesome one on...then later a really lame one on fox. The reason i left them out was because the ones i mentioned were more classical, not so much a product of recent decades (though one could probably argue garfield, but it wasn't too modern). Either way it's a shame that all these are gone...I've got to be forgetting some, i just know it.

Eek the Cat cracked me up, what happened to it?

    >>eek the cat

fox had this cartoon cabana thing on for a while 2 summers ago, it had eek, terrible thunder lizards, and one other i think. I taped every one of them. Collectively i have most of the eek episodes on video. One of my favorites had to be where they spoofed terminator with sharky...classic...but i can't forget that postman guy who was afraid of the muffin man

    >>how about road runner?

he'd be included in looney tunes, but Wile was my favorite...shows these days (pokemon, power rangers, etc) are incredibly lame. Both shows are essentially the same every day, maybe the mosters are different, but they're the same. Wile E found a new way to blow himself up every episode. It even teaches the kids physics (except for the part where the edge of the cliff stays standing and he falls...).
