Exclamation The People Vs. "Foo Vs. Bar" Threads

Support this ammendment to the C Programming Rules:

Threads with polls for stupid things such as:
    Void Main vs. Int Main
    \n vs. endl
The People Vs. "Foo Vs. Bar" Threads
    etc etc

if you vote yay on this ammendment all will be well and fluffy.

call me stupid, but what is foo & bar? I've seen it used in many examples, but I have no clue what it means

I agree with you, these polls are useless, but sometimes what seems stupid to someone might seem very important.

If you don't like the nature of a thread, no-one ever said you have to read it. If someone posts a thread that is pointless it will generally disappear in a day or so but if it raises a point that poeple want to discuss, be it a 'A vs B' thread or not, then it will stay around. Surely that's the whole purpose of a general discussions board?

    maes,

'foo & bar' as I know it comes from the abreviation 'fubar' which means '****** up beyond all recognition'. Sorry Kermi3, wasn't sure how else to explain it.

I agree with what both Ammar and Minesweeper said. Just ignore the threads which seem stupid to you, someone else might find it funny or usefull.

Threads with polls for stupid things such as:
You mean polls like this one, right? The \n vs endl poll is actually a good poll (well, maybe it doesn't need to be a poll and only thread...), because people are able to get useful info from it. Whereas, with this poll nothing will come from it. Granted I don't have to read it, but this poll doesn't offer anything what so ever.

The board algo.. automatically sovles this problems.. if the poll is not interested... it disappears... as it.. should.
