nice.. i personally don't like laptops.. they don't last as long, and i've had bad experiences with a couple Inspiron 3500's(?)... scarred me for life, i think...
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I like laptops OK, irritatingly unmaintainable but if you have a genuine need for the portability then you can't really argue with it.

i got a laptop for several reason:

    A) I already have several desktops, one high end.

    b) I travel to and from FL/NJ so much

    c) i want to be able to take programming with me, specially in college

I have a large need for movement capabilities.

If you don't mind my asking, if you could have had your choice of any portable, why the fsck would you choose to be "gettin' a Dell"?

    I don't mind at all!

I've owned two dell desktops and one other dell laptop. I have always found they're support, products, and the like to be fast, effecient, and an all out wonderful relationship. I personally would reccomend dell to anyone who doesn't want to build theyre own, as i reccoemnd that first for price reasons.

Dude, i'm proud to be getting dell : )

Dell desktops are good. But, my sister got a dell laptop and it was a total POS. The problem was that her laptop was supposedly a high end one. Tech-support sucked. Basically, problems galore.

Well I'm all for rolling your own, but as far as OEMs go I'm (hesitantly) Gateway for desktops and (strongly) Toshiba for portables. Unless you actually want a powerful portable, in which case you need a Tadpole.
