    uh huh..

    >>Also, VB developers are writing more sophisticated programs than get written on this board. <<

Maybe superficially, but the inner-workings of ours are better. I have to take this VB course right now, and know what we do? Point and click. point and click. point and click. See what I'm getting at? there's barely any actualy CODING involved. Sometimes I worry if your head is on straight.

first C++ is not .NET MS cannot claim it either so there
C++, compiled with a .NET-capable compiler to managed code (.NET intermediate language) is termed C++.NET.

C++ is not GNU, but you have GNU C++. What's in a name?

the fact that its MS developed
Like DirectX, Windows 2000, VC++? On which many fairly serious games are based?

VB CANNOT MAKE A SERIOUS GAME it is far to slow you cannot even begin to deny this...
Watch me. After all, there are many games that do not require fast-moving 3D graphics, and VB 6 is perfectly capable of implementing many of these. VB 6 has a native-mode compiler and DirectX interfaces. If you want to bash an entirely unsuitable environment, why not try Java?

.NET is a different kettle of fish. VB.NET, C#.NET and C++.NET (managed code) all offer the same possibilities. They promise to run as fast as unmanaged code in most instances, and VB.NET is a wholly different animal to its immediate predecessor.

I'm almost (but not quite) tempted to write one, in each of the three, to illustrate my point. Why don't you give it a go? You might surprise yourself.

Damn. This is not a 300 word essay...

You can get a VB.NET game at Microsofts website for free called Donkey.NET. Use their search.

I think .NET games are going to be more powerful than ever for writing games that integrate with the internet. I keep learning new things about .NET but I hesitate to speak out about it because there is a lot of new information that I need to process. Just finished watching a movie yesterday on C#.
    I compile code with:
    Visual Studio.NET beta2
