An ex-classmate of mine from last year killed himself accidently while high when he casually tried swallowing a whole egg. Oops.

Getting high makes everything around you more dangerous.

    >I don't have to shoot myself in the foot to know it's a bad idea.<

I would hardly call smoking weed shooting yourself in the foot.

    >An ex-classmate of mine from last year killed himself accidently while high when he casually tried swallowing a whole egg. Oops.<

That was his own fault. Moreover, those cases are rare and few. Most intoxication-related accidents are on alcohol. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't drunk as well as high.

Anyway, you're implying that the weed MADE him do it. Give me a break. I've been high many times, and it doesn't give you a sense of invincibility unlike alcohol. That dude is either a moron or was under the influence of something else.

    >Getting high makes everything around you more dangerous.<

*chuckles* No it doesn't. Being a moron makes everything around you more dangerous. If that dude had used his head he wouldn't have tried to swallow an egg, even if he was stoned off of his ass.

    >When marijuana is illegal, the social line of morality is that "tobacco=ok; weed=bad; ex=worse;" But once you take away the bad weed, the line gets bumped down a notch so that "weed=ok; ex=bad; crack=worse;"<

Okay, so it's marijuana's fault if crack becomes more popular because marijuana was legalized? That's bull**** logic.

Speaking from experience? No? Then how can you say this?

I don't have to shoot myself in the foot to know it's a bad idea.
If you don't want to try weed, FINE. There's NOTHING wrong with that. Just don't go spouting bull**** "facts" and "advice" to others. Not wanting to try weed for some reason other than "it's the spawn of satan" is perfectly fine.

Be it weed or programming... if you were told by your teachers, parents or others that programming turns you into a mindless robot; you'd never try it. Yet it's such a beautiful thing.

One of my buddies broke both his legs, collar bone and almost DIED because of some trees when he was skiiing. Skiing makes every tree around you more dangerous.

    >> I'll give you a hint: it had to do with the industrial uses of hemp.

Yes, but if they started using hemp for paper and other common things, wouldn't people start smokin their books and stuff?

Hahaha... I certainly hope not! (Hemp contains only minute traces of THC and other of that "good" stuff, so it can't get you high.)

But anyway, people smoked cannabis in the US since the Civil War when it was the number one prescribed treatment for aches and other stuff...

I think even Thomas Jefferson, founding father, had his writings published in hemp as well as many other scholars at that time.

He did. And much of the paper back then was indeed made from hemp.

What's more, many of the founding fathers actually grew cannabis for industrial purposes. It was THE cash crop back in the day. Isn't it funny how it's not mentioned in any of the school history books?

Anything that alters your body from the norm, ie exposing your body to a state or effect that is not a normal function, ie disturbing the balance of....the body....affects the way you think, act, react, or generally live.

    End of story.

Here are some of the drugs I've abused in my time :

    1. Broccoli ( really hardcore )
    2. Cabbage ( a very mellow high )
    3. Radish ( very dangerous )
    4. Celery ( worst I've had so far )
    5. Pumpkin ( one of the coolest drugs I've come across )
    6. Asparagus ( you won't remember a thing )

I'm rehabilitated now. It was a very long and hard phase to go through. My family supported me all the way. One thing I can say though, those long nights chewing those celery sticks were unforgettable, not to mention the broccoli.

I'm never touching those things again

This thread changed my life! You druggies are right! I'm sick of this no-fact propaganda train!

I'm going out to get some casual weed now, you know, just to relax... I earned it, there's nothing wrong with it, hey it's natural right? (I live in Chicago remember)

Thanks again, I've been such a fool to have rejected marijuana for so long!

I don't care if you do drugs, but you shouldn't do them to avoid your problems. If you don't confront your problems, they aren't gonna go away.
