I had a Creative iNfra 52X which had a similar problem, I discarded the trojan or virus, because it also happened while on the BIOS setup, it wasn't a jumper, because I never messed with them, but I looked for it in a magic book and found the mono azul spell in the CD-ROM trouble section.

and my CDROM was still messed up
