Me? A liar? Well I never!

Has anybody died in their dreams?
I have, twice. Was shot in the head and everything slowly went dark. Kinda boring.

Being killed in dreams, and actually "hitting the ground" is very rare.

The best I've done was, I was standing at the top of the stairs to my basement, and went to face down the stairs to turn the lights off and these 2 manicans (sp?) with blurry faces came running up the steps. The guy manican grabbed me, and druge me down the stairs right beside the female manican (she was laughing) when we got to the bottom of the steps everything went dark, and I'd either wake up, dream of something else, or the dream would repeat! This dream would repeat several time, and was reoccuring.

Never could control my dreams though...except for something along the lines of, I had these reoccuring dreams where I'd blink, and I would be in a totally new surrounding and place...it was like teleporting!

    > One time I was faling out of a plane, saw a forest beneath me and hit the floor in a city. Could actualy feel my body shake as it happened.
Man, that's strange. Was somebody watching you sleep? Your body probalby shook/arched your back just like somebody having a nightmare.

    Yeah, I occasionally have them.

Things I've tried while in a lucid dream:
    - being with hot chicks (that was fun)
    - eating tons of candy (couldn't really taste it)
    - going to an arcade and playing games for free (i tried to control what the video games were going to be but they ended up like crap)
    - flying around the world checking out the scenery from above (this by far is the coolest experience...sometimes it's really hard to start flying because you have to truly believe you can)
    - Going around to people in my dream saying that they don't exist because it's MY dream

I've also had dreams within a dream. I would dream going to bed and then having another dream inside of that. Then I'd wake up to my first original dream thinking I was really awake. I'd go about my normal business then end up waking up for real. Really trippy.

    Anyone else experience that before?

Or how about you're in a half dream state. You'd be dreaming but your eyes would be open and you'd see your normal surroundings. I would know I'm dreaming but I can't consciously move my body until I am fully awake. It's really scary not being able to move.

I have more but I'll save it for another post.

i remember when i was young "waking up" within a dream, and finding that the floor was covered with snakes, then i actually wake up and find that it was all a dream.

I've been killed in a dream once... though it wasn't boring. I was shot in the back of the head while running into some trees, apparently in a war (I remember carrying a backpack and having a uniform). I fell, rolled over to look up, and then my brother was standing over me shocked. I have to admit, I felt like I was dying when I woke up.

Well you've asked for it. I shall interpret your dream.

Let's see here. You being on top of the stairs looking down on the mannequins represent you having a superiority complex. You think you are above all and that you are the center of the universe. This is even more evident by the fact that the mannequins have blurry faces. The reasoning for the blurry faces is they represent all of humanity and not any specific person and it really doesn't matter to you.

The guy dragging you down the stairs may mean you are slightly homophobic. Your worst fears are shown when you're finally dragged down to the bottom of the stairs with the woman laughing at you. The lady laughing could also mean you're having problems with women in general.

You worry what others think of you and lack a sense of full self-confidence. You fear being average and are uncomfortable when you realize you're not on the pedestal you've set for yourself. You also fear not being able to accomplish all the goals you've set out in life. The dream is reoccurring because you've never faced your fears and/or do not know how to deal with the roots of the problem. You are also unwilling to admit to seeing the problem and will "turn off the lights to the basement" but unfortunately, the problem still remains within. You may dream of something else but the problem is still there and the dream will reoccur. You will know the problem has been dealt with when you finally go down to the basement and leave the lights on. Then you will see the mannequins will come to life. The blurriness of their face will disappear, finally revealing themselves to you.

    All right, whose next

EDIT - This is also consistent with your dream of falling from a plane and the dream where you would blink and be in a new surrounding (teleporting away from your troubles).

Cshot...that's good. You have a dream reading book over there??

Let me touch on a few things though.
This is all honesty, I have no problem admitting this stuff.

I had that reoccuring dream when I was like 8, and a child.
    Go figure.

Nah, no dream books over here. I've never taken psychology either. It just comes naturally to me. Some people tell me their dreams and I tell them what I think. Most of the time they just laugh at me saying how far off I am, but in the inside they know I shed some truth

Anyone know any good dream books? Should be an interesting read.

    Here you go Cshot...

A dinosaur bird was flying around in the sky at night above me and some friends. This pyramid was right beside us, and, well, that confused me. We all hoped into this van to get away and it started sliding down this hill backwards, and I couldn't control it. The taradactyl was gettting closer, coming in for swoop dives, to get warmed up. Then, it like changed into, no kidding, a Rainbow Brite looking thing (dark sky background...told ya it was pretty) Finally at the last minute, we got out of there..

i always wake up when i realize i am dreaming. it really sucks because i am like, "oh this is so great...wait a minute...im dreaming...CRAP...DANGT..." and wake up...

it is rare to die in a dream, but it has happened to me before.

In this dream, I was in a sword fight. It was a one vs. one match, me vs. some guy with a black cloak and a white beard (he looked like MacBeth on the cartoon Gargoyles).

The world we were in was a very odd, 3d world...it was very much like the world Homer was in on that one Halloween special when he went into the 3d world...

So that was the setting of the whole dream, and me and this guy were fighting it out with our swords for quite a long time. At one point I managed to gain the upper hand and knocked him away. I then jumped onto a platform and fought from there with a little height advantage. Unfortunately I was forced off the platform when he increased his attack on me...so I jumped off, turned around, and continued fighting.

After a little more fighting, he stabbed me right in the gut. I remember the feeling even to that day. I found it odd, because even though it was a dream, I could feel it very easily. The sword going into my stomach produced kind of a dull pain, and almost made my stomach feel like how your stomach feels when its going down a really steep hill on a roller coaster.

The man I was fighting then congratulated me on the fight. He said I had been a skilled and worthy fighter. After that I died...and then I woke up.

Now isn't that a cool dream or what?

So hmmm, let's see here. You being around friends symbolizes being in a comfortable zone. With the pterodactyl showing up, it could mean your comfort zone is often threatened and you may know it is not always a safe haven for you. The pyramid represents your big dreams while the pterodactyl is the element that is an obstacle you must overcome to achieve it. Dinosaurs and pyramids represent things in the past so you probably had this feeling in your childhood days. Children naturally have a tendency to want things, but being very young, many factors prevent them from getting it. The fact that the sky is dark also shows that this was an uncertain time in your life.

Now the next part is very interesting. Your friendly gathering has now been interrupted and everything is in a state of disarray. You run into the van and this is your attempt of trying to get back in your safe element and be in control again. However, the fact that it slid backwards and down a hill probably means you feel you're not in control. Going downwards and backwards keep you farther away from your pyramid of goals.

The pterodactyl changes into the Rainbow Brite background. If I can remember correctly, that cartoon had a solid line between the dark and the light with no gray areas. This represents on how you perceive things in life. It is either right or wrong, and there are no gray areas for compromise. Finally your dream ends in you getting out of the place. You do not attack the dangers head on but somehow you know you must get out of there without really knowing the right path to achieve it.

Overall, you somehow feel that you are held back by your environment (the pterodactyl and the van) and current situation. You may feel entrapped and let that control your life. But in reality, you would need to actually not let your environment hold you back and start taking control of your future. Perhaps you would need to look at what you want to achieve exactly in life. It is not always black and white, and the gray area may need a great deal of attention.

Hehe, sorry it took so long. Been kinda busy and plus this dream was a bit more complex than your previous one. I really need to start charging by the hour

    quotes myself

I would just like to point out that I was talking about the bird there. The _bird_ suddenly become frozen, and turned into a point/wirefram skeleton with each join a bright color. It was sort of timless. It did however regain a certain stance/composure before freezing.

Possibly, it almost seemed as if it was a statue...going back to being a statue after coming to life etc. I saw it come at as in the bird form, and caused some havoc, but before it was all said and done, it went away to where it belonged...it was just displayed to ME in my dream as all colorful when it went away(possibly, when I do overcome some of my big obstacles, they will be very pleasing and satisfying for me?). There weren't many details to the dream, and the ones that were there were confusing.

I would say Cshot, that you have a great imagination, and you interprut and relate things to life very well. Seriously man, I'm coming to you for my dreams. Tell me how to grab life by the horns!

I think I've sprinkled this thread enough though, so I'm stepping out. (feel free to read more of my dream Cshot though!)
