    Flowcharting

Will anybody "recommend", from experience, flowcharting software, that's free, or atleast useful?
I could draw the flowchart with paintbrush, but eh, you can figure out the rest.

Yeah, we have Visio at school, I'll have to look into the possibility of getting a copy as a course supliment.

I was just chancing the fact of, "you never know with the internet".

Visio is real good. You can also use MS Word with the drawing toolbar.

Linux supplies dia, which supports UML drawing.

The ultimate is rational rose, but it is not free:

I'm afraid I use Visio as well.

Do you use that Dean? We were going to use it, (indeed a few of us went on courses - not me), but it was rejected in favour of something else as being to expensive for what it was, and that it's UML implementation had been bent quite a bit to fit their "RUP" process.

I like the Rational Unified Process, but as far as UML goes, I don't see a need to pay a lot of money for the tools. I'd rather write my own code. I used an older version of Rational Rose, it was nice, but I'd rather just use 'dia' or even hand drawings rather than pay all the money that they are asking.

I think I'll stick to Visio. It's fast and easy.

(the reason I asked was for a temporary fix as I haven't checked out the software yet)
