    FAQ Check/Lock

Recently its becoming more and more apparent that people are not reading the FAQ. So i have been doing some thinking (oh no!) on the subject, and have devised what i think its possible solution to this problem.

When a member registers the first thing they do is post they're problem. As most of them are just here to get homework answerd and pass they're class, they don't bother to give a crap about the FAQ.

Why not make a script, that when a new user is made they are directed to the FAQ for a duration of say, 30 minutes(?) and locked there until that time is up. If they have no where else within the boards to go, then they'll probably read it.

Also, in this time period they shouldn't be allowed to post. If they could post in the FAQ, well you could see how it could get messy in there i'm sure.

And lastly, why not force all unregisterd members to only be allowed in the FAQ, with no posting privlages, because alot of them are just as bad as the registerd members who ignore the FAQ.

Just a few thoughts on the matter.

This wouldn't work. Even if you lock people at the FAQ they still can click the 'X' in the upper right corner of their window. And they would. You would simply eliminate 90% of new users.
