Guess you've always spelt netiquette wrong then.
    That dictionary's copywrited 2000, CP.com started im 97 (I think), we're older, we're right!

Cshot, I'm not gonna bother, but you always gotta cause trouble don't ya? (and I don't want to know how long you spent thinking of things to break EVERY rule.)

bah! All powerful Mr. Webmster has told me that once again I can't spell . It's netiquette. . I'll change it when I get around to it....it's REALLY annoying just to change one word heh.

First of all I'm glad you like the rules, second here are some of the changes so you can see them:

    2. Don't ask people to do all your work for you, See the announcement on Homework below this one for more info about what is considered acceptable.

    3. Please be careful of your language and content. Keep everything suitable for children, or it will be edited. This also means don't do things like * out certain letters to get by filters. People still know what you mean. This board is a PG-13 environment.
The bold is new, mainly putting "PG-13" in writing here.

    7. Messages posted solely to increase post counts will be deleted.

    8. One liner posts are discouraged. Sometimes they are needed but rarely. Except for things like "thank yous" to people who help you with their code please don't post one liners.

    9. Messages whose intent is to "Flame," or purposely insult or incite another person, or any portion of a post that "flames" will be deleted.

    10. Tests/Quizzes and assignments - This board has no way of policing whether people are asking for help on graded assignment. We claim no responsibility for it. However, we discourage people from asking for help on graded work without permission of the instructor.
7, 8, and 9 replaced the "Spam and Postcounts" message.

10 is just a heads up and reminder to people who may use this site in a less than honest way on homework.

    11. Please use code tags whenever you are posting code more than a line or two in length. More information on code tags can be found on the stickies on top of all forums (except the General Discussion board).
    Obvious.

    12. When posting code please do not post your entire program if you only need help with one function. Post as little as possible. People are much more likely to read small amounts of code and help you than they are to read a hundred lines of code.
Reasonable and it raises the amount of people that will read a question, heh, this one is just good advice.

    13. Soliciting of any product without the consent of the Administration is forbidden. This includes advertising job openings. Advertising for profit is never allowed, you can ask if you wish, but don't hold your breath. PM me or the webmaster for permission or questions.
An unwritten rule that's now in writing.

14 and what follows it are made to cut down on the things that annoy many members alot and are just pointless. It leads to a more helpful and happy comunity I think.

I'd also like to thank here, as I haven't before, all of the mods, who had tremendous input on these rules, particuarlly Hammer who spent a great deal of time editting my grammer hehe. I would also like to thank two Senior Members, Prelude and Shadow, who independantly (without knowlage that the rules were being rewriten) sent me ideas for various things, including a couple of the rules, these may have been changed slightly by the mods and me, but their general concept is all there. Thanks to all for your help.

    knowledge, rewritten

LOL, looks like I caught the Ken Fitlike disease. BTW, you're welcome

On a more serious note, is there any way we can make the rules more visible to people? Perhaps making the title of the announcements and sticky's a different color if possible (instead of the normal reddish color). I know the first time I posted on here, I didn't pay attention to those sticky threads on top. I just wanted my questions answered as fast as possible. I'm assuming most newbies would do the same.

** checks for spelling errors so I won't get bashed
    Try not.
    Do or do not.
    There is no try.
