    "I am God."

So, that whole Maryland Sniper issue is real creepy, aint it?
    http://apnews1.iwon.com/article/20021009/D7MI42S83.html

You know, if I lived in Maryland, I would probably be afraid to
go outside. The sniper's a nut; he's picking his targets at random...
Killed a lady reading a book on a bench, killed someone who was
mowing their lawn, killed someone vacuuming out their van.

I doubt this guy will get caught soon.

Jeez, is this going to be a yearly occurance from now on? It was
    only a year ago that people were getting murdered by anthrax;
    now a sniper.

Well, the shooter has achieved what he/she wanted: put fear into people's lives. I'm not saying I wouldn't be afraid either.

I bet he'll get caught sooner than you think. He's thriving on the attention and the feeling of power. The "I am God" note was an indicator of this. To me the note says that he now wants people to recognize his power etc. as the coverage gets bigger and bigger he'll leave more and more notes etc like this. There will probably be at least one or 2 more killings unfortunatly, but I think he'll start makin mistakes in his drive to be recognized...

Oh and I'd be afraid to...though i don't think I'd let it effect my every day life to much, atleast to protect myself, not my style.

It's not guns that kill people.
It's scopes, those goddamn telescopic scopes! Ban them!

Your right, people do. As we carry on day to day, there are people who thrive on trying to disturb our norm. As this guy has demonstrated, some people let this happen. The way i see it, the norm is what you make it. You can die at any moment, of anything, why limit your life in fear of a threat that has always been there, always existed, just never been exposed?

New fears and turn outs will expose themselves as time goes on, fear is natural. When we, as a nation, lose the ability to be shocked, scared, and amazed, will we not have ceased to live? Are these not factors that keep life , well life? Are we to become a nation who needs no censor because we fear everything or nothing at all??

There will always be a weaker who feels the need to shake things up. We should not fear the newly exposed, but adjust as a nation so that we may effectivly carry on and carry out justice.

    IMO that is.

People are made to kill or be killed. Giving a person the means to kill is just asking for trouble. Ban guns.

the "i am god" thing makes me think he is an unreal tournament sniper, or at least started his skills there.

Dont let the press hear you say that!!

Mind you video games are bound to be blamed for something soon anyway, its been a while since they were blamed for the current state of society.
Couldn't think of anything interesting, cool or funny - sorry.

... and knives, anything exlposive, anything poisonous, anything that weighs more than 5lbs, etc... I think you see my point.

This guy is probably thrilled that he's got this 'sniper' image, as they portray on the news. I say they stop calling him a sniper and call him what he really is; a serial killer.

Luckily, way up here in Canada, most can't tell the difference between a gun and their telephone.

Good point, but I doubt the authorities will take it any more seriously. I bet its the top priority for all law enforcement agencies in the US at the moment!

People have always had the means to kill. In fact in days gone by your own survival depended upon it.

You can kill just as easy with no weapons , but you cant 'ban' hands/feet can you.

And IMO calling him a serial killer may make him worse-say it like he is, call him a 'nutter' on TV. That may do the job.
    Such is life.

A 'sniper' is someone who kills people in cold blood

A 'serial killer' is someone who kills people, usually in cold blood

Amazing, how to some, one can seem so much more 'glamorous' than the other.

I'm no psycologist and know nothing about the reasons why. But I would be interested to find out.
