It's sick isn't it? Maybe not sick, just sad. I want the world to be equal, I don't want wars. I want both halves to have food, because there is plenty to go around. I don't care about my country having all of the power. Our president is a paranoid schizophrenic, soon he'll be declaring war on Maine and Georgia (well Maine I can understand!) I want to just go live in the woods or mountains somewhere and have a little solar powered computer with visual studio so I can write programs all day. I don't know how we got onto this topic. The condition of the world makes me sad. What i quoted up top really moved me, and I feel depressed now.

But then again me feeling bad doesn't really matter. I mean, I haven't done anything to change the situation. I don't want to be someone who just feels bad and then thinks that feeling bad is enough, or that I'm a good person because I feel bad for other people but then I go and eat a big meal without really caring. The USA would probably have less problems with less power.

almost all of the "beggars and starving people" who die in america on any given day chose for themselves to die. albeit by adiction to drugs or lazyness. If one cared enough, even in a ghetto urban area, School districts in america are allowed to accept district transfers. If you really cared, you can easily have a life and have plenty to eat

the attitudes I'm hearing are the reason the US is hated. It's a confused perception that in order to attain this level of wealth we had to make the rest of the world starve. "Enough to go around" is a phrase that suggests that no more can be created and we're just being greedy. The fact that America has so much is because we CREATED that wealth. We did not achieve it through conquest. Other nations could do the same. There is no reason to suggest that the US has done something wrong just because they are wealthy. There is a reason that redistribution of wealth is ineffective. It takes resources away from producers. Producers are those that CREATE wealth. You need to learn to focus on the fact that wealth can expand not just be shared.

You have both made good points. Just because someone comes from a poor environment doesn't mean he or she is condemned to remain in a poor environment. I don't hate the united states, I just hate the idea that despite everything humans have created for themselves, suffering still happens. I don't know, I haven't seen enough of the world. Maybe things aren't really as bad as I think. I actually really like the idea that we can all have good lives if we try. Fill you made me feel much better to tell you the truth

I don't know...I don't have an opinion anymore, I just want everyone's existance to be a relatively good one. I hate war and killing and violence and starvation, but I guess I shouldn't ridicule myself and my country for other peoples problems.
