Do we really need another poll for this?

Microsoft OS/2... that's a new one to me...
If I'm mistaken, it came out just before IBM released Win95.Originally posted by Eibro

Sun Solaris is another one, but I doubt anyone here uses it even though it's probably the most powerful OS, either that or Unix.
Yeah, IBM 0S/2, and I think they have a few more brands as well.

Cool, I have been reading a lot of good things about Solaris, in a non biased book on operating systems concepts. I can't blame the vendors for everything. It was IBM who pioneered the concept of a virtual machine, and Sun Microsystems capitalized on it with Java. Next will be Linux capitalizing on it, and I'll be breathing down the source code.
I only wish. I'm just studying it in a book about operating system concepts. Is 2.6 the latest model? It's running on a non intel microprocessor? Is it called Sparc ..and it's 64-bit?Originally posted by vVv
Solaris 2.6 here, not as much fun as *BSD though.

Do you use it?
I can remember programming with C Set++ running on OS/2 Warp.Originally posted by Troll_King

It's a shame they stopped with OS/2.
I'm using Solaris, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and MicroC/OS-II (probably - that's not final yet)
