I have two yeras left in high school. I want to concentrate on OpenGL and Win32 development. Is this a good idea? What else would you reccommend in terms of programmign?

Well what do you enjoy about programming?
Do you like to work with 3d graphics?
Do you like to develop games?
Do you like to work with sound?
Do you like to work with AI?
Pick what you like to do most with computer programming and focus on it...
I'd concentrate on database stuff. Used in every application. Languages change, but they all have to retrieve, manipulate, change, etc, data. C++ is big now, but who knows what'll be big in 2010? Maybe C++. Either way, there will be tons of data to mine.
Given the pace and future of data capture and storage technology, getting usefull results from it will be more important than ever.
I'm not saying this should occur, only that it likely will. It's a digitized world, and will only get more so.

I'm afraid of comittment, I'm afraid that I won't be a well rounded programmer if I just stick to OpenGL...at the same time I haven't done a damn thing in a week or so (well I did some in school but it was stupid stuff)Pick what you like to do most with computer programming and focus on it...

Concentrate on a specific thing of programming you like most. But, since you're still at school, also take a look at other fields regularly so you don't become too specialised and so that you know some about other fields of programming.
