The guy makes one mistake and you want to ban him?
I think he should get a second chance (after the election of course).

Well, I don't get on here for a day... and look what happens
What a nightmare :D
Oh well, lets move on. Count me in, for what it's worth.
Agreed with Salvelinus.

Somewhat "echoing" Ken's sentiments here, I, too, am disappointed that Prelude withdrew from the election, but understand that it might not have been an easy decision to make.
That being said, we've still got an impressive list of candidates to choose from and I wish all of them the best of luck!
P.S. Thanks, Fordy, for the class act. We've seen some fine examples here and I hope it continues.

I want to see some campaigning! I know that the most likely canidates are suitable for moderatorship, but dag-nab-it, I want to see them fight and beg for it! :D

but what if the person doesnt have static IP?
and if the person is an AOL users you prolly just banned an entire region of the country's AOL using public (not like the people on AOL are worth not banning anyhow).
I really don't think that i can win, so i'm not going to campaign or anything.
I can still think of ways to do multiple votes (not that I would)
this time around this contest will be closely watched by the moderators. we can see and disqualify any double voting (ie double ip addresses).
Yes I realize that..
But think libraries and internet cafes
what kind of person goes through the trouble of going to an internet cafe to log in on several different computers (assuming they all have different ips) just to change the results of a moderator election on a web page, where the stakes are so pathetically low (no offense), and where the possiblility of gain is nonexistant?
I don't know,not me though
