    Linux license for ignorance

You might want to use Linux but this doesn't mean that you have to become ignorant. I don't mind having a Linux board on this site but I noticed how pathetic Linux people are when Microsoft has a new language and a good language and more and more people want to use it. Linux users remind me of the Taliban religious fundamentalists who want to take away peoples rights.
    I compile code with:
    Visual Studio.NET beta2

    Troll_King would be more appropriate.

But let's ratchet it up a notch eh?

Linux users are like baby killers. And research proves that they hate their mothers. Anyone who doesn't like the fact that Microsoft is raising prices and putting out servers full of security holes is an ingrate.

That shoudl get the ball rolling.

There ya go... ya done went and ........ed me off...

I'm not against any language, and none of my friends who use Linux are against any such language. I'm a big fan of all Windows languages and have to program in several of them. You guys make it sound like we're a bunch of close-minded dipsh1ts.

Quite the contrary... maybe you all should get yourself a Linux box and see the benefits... more efficient, more stable, yet lacking some software options as far as office development.

They both have thier ups and downs... don't pigeonhole us... bastards...

Well, it's nice to see that as the leaves change and we change into autumn (at least in the northern hemisphere - you aussies and new zealanders can keep your backwards seasons ), Dean's around to change preferred OS's again...

    I think I'll help Theolgian...

Did you know Torvalds is actually Hitler? It's true! They froze his head and attached it to someone else's body! Also, the other day, I saw a guy in a RedHat shirt kick a puppy and shove an old lady into the street! Did I mention that this guy desparately needed a bath? It's also a known fact that 99.5% of sex offenders are Linux users (the remainder use MacOS)! The other day, Dan Rather said that the world would be a better place if only all Linux users would just jump off cliffs, and I believed him because I'm a stupid American and he's a newscaster - therefore, I must take what he says as gospel, because as an ignorant American, I am wholly unable to think for myself.

I don't remember who on this board said it, but "Jesus, the level of stupidity in this thread is unreal!"

"yet lacking some software options as far as office development. "

Not so sure about that. Sun's staroffice is free, Mandrake 8.0 comes installed with an office suite, something I can't say for windows. Sure, it lacks one option, and that is MS office, but that's no suprise.

I think most linux folks will concede the edge the MS holds w/the office suite stuff. (With the time and money they have had they should be out front)

But you're right, the gap is closing. I use Star Office on my Linux and my NT boxen. The new Star Office 6.0 beta is out and I look forward to using it. I hear that the improvements are substantial.

For a while I thought linux was toast. And on the desktop market it is still very weak. But w/the way microsoft has continued to throw its weight around I think they will be forcing more and more customers to look for other options. Maybe not home users (they'll keep stealing stuff) but businesses that can't afford to get caught w/pirated software will have to make the move.

That's good because competition is healthy.

But in other news-- Studies have shown a link between the portion of the population using Linux and the number of vampires in a given community. The FBI has also just realeased new evidence that it was the GPL that caused the airliners to hit buildings on Sept. 11th not the hijackers.

    When will we learn?

Not to mention the tattoo paradox... Ted Bundy has the GPL tattooed on his chest, and Manson has LOVE on each finger of one hand, and LINUX on the other. Jack the Ripper was an early pioneer of the open source movement - the reason he committed the murders was that he was furious at the thought of having to pay... It wasn't called the open source movement then, but something similar. It can be inferentially determined that a distro of Debian was responsible for the movie Battlefield Earth (evidence that supports Caldera's responsibility in Waterworld is sketchy, at best). Did you know that the gov't keeps track of everyone that buys a copy of Linux and puts them in a special folder labeled "Kill these people"? Well, you do now.

Witch_King has used linux, so don't go there. Second windows 2000, xp are highly stable. Also I run winodws 98, and it is stable for me. I don't run it networked though.

    They both have their uses.

If MS can ever achieve anything close to what they want- and eliminate pirated copies of windows-- then I am willing to bet that most all of you will be using another OS.

Every thread here where people talk about 2000 and XP they also mention that it is not a legally purchased copy.

Me- I wont put something on any machine of mine that's not legal. (And I don't copy music cd's, movies, etc. so I think I'm pretty consistent) That's why I already use Linux on the systems I build and NT on the box I bought.

    We'll see what happens.
