    Cprogramming.com Advertisements

Are these advertisements localized to our area? What I mean is, if I'm in Pakistan am I getting Pakistan ads, if im in New York, New York ads, etc. What kinds of ads are you guys getting? I'm getting a Telus ad.

I haven't noticed any localized ads (I just got expedia and inktomi, too)... I seem to remember nv saying he got ads in German when the new boards went up last summer, though.

The Telus ad is an Alberta ad. That's my home province.

Maybe there are some, then... I don't recall ever seeing a Telus ad... I don't think I've ever seen any local to me, though.

Speaking of ads..... is anyone else getting popups on the boards? I seem to get the same one everyday.

yes, and the popups help pay for the site, Dean.

Opera kills them for me, but I keep that option off to help the site
EntropySink. You know you have to click it.

The reason I ask is because popups used to unacceptable here but maybe they are now financially required like ober said. I am just getting the one so it's not a big deal anyways.

Oh god yea ads pay for sites! My friend's company (the one I work for if you're curious) hosted that stupid HampsterDance stuff when it was new... oh my god! You would cry if you knew how much money she made from advertising in the first months of HampsterDance

I always click on ad banners at least a few times a day for sites I like (I think of it like a donation )
