Thank you to those who voted for me, but I must decline. I was willing to support Hammer for moderator of the FAQ board because he said that he wanted the job. It only remained to be seen if he could handle it. I do not care for the TV show 'Friends', okay. I am more interested in shows like 'Survivor'. I hope everyone understands, and if not than kiss my ass.

This is not yet the vote, just the nominations. Anyone who gets nominated and seconded is on the vote, no matter how many times s/he was seconded. It will make life for the mods a lot easier if you don't second or nominate someone who already was seconded. It won't help the person, s/he's already in. It just makes skimming through the posts harder for those that create the list of the nominated and seconded people.

perhaps we should start a new thread wherein the contestants for this prize post a message to show that they are still around.
A couple of the peole that were voted/seconded aren't around nearly enough to mod these boards.
Reminder all, nominations and seconds will take place for 4 days (until Tuesday 12:00am cst). This is particually important since some people don't log on on weekends do me must give them through Monday.

I'd vote for myself, but I can't.
Prelude would make an ecellent mod, but she isn't on all the time.

I check the boards every signle day myself even though I may not post.
People with a 2 way mind would be a good mod in my opinion.
Hammer can be a tad too nice sometimes IMO.
Strict...then informative, and helpful - at the same time.
Someone who is familar with the communcity and has been around since mid 2001 sometime.
Sayeh = Programming dictionary. Could care less about the community aspect, a mod must care about Cprogramming.com.
Prelude = Syntax helpful (Extremely). One to help teach slowly, as to make you understand everything (fetch this, understand that, etc). Does not get too down on redundant questions / off topic (site wise) stuff, etc.
Quzah = Might work, but with his temper, I'd hate to give him the controls.
Salem = Already, Excellent IMO.
Hammer = Best bet (would need to toughen up that iron fist a bit though).

OK...I know it's late coming, and i appologize, but here is what our mods generally do:
Mods generally look at the boards at least once a day.
They use their judgment looking at posts to determine if they are appropriate or not.
They must be trustworthy because they will be able to do virtually anything to posts.
And they shouldn't be someone who is going to "over moderate." We try and edit down as few posts as possible.
Give opinions on the site
Answer questions by users, often by PM
These are the basic duties of a mod, however other odd jobs ones pop up every once and a while. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them eithere here or via PM/e-mail.

My conclusion as well. The only reason I haven't requested to be removed is that I'm 99% sure that I won't be chosen and I'm curious how popular I am.

I know Java, C++, some PASCAL, PHP, and some mySQL (of course i know HTML), so i could be helpful for any site design issues or board issues that pop up
