As for the best old game...
Goonies II for Nintendo. I loved that game so
much. Especially when you got the 'boing-boing'
shoes...
Yo Noid! was also rad.

You thinking Choplifter?
And yes, every FF game I've ever played was lame... Wannabe RPG crap... D2's addictive as hell, but that's another one of those games claiming to be an RPG but isn't...

Choplift... not sure. All I remember was that you flew around in a helicopter and shot at little 3 and 3/4 polygon things that you could pretend were tanks if you squinted and turned the screen brightness down to none. It was a 3D universe tho and that was pretty cool at the time.

Ya, true. I'm still waiting for the One True RPG to come to earth and free us all (from ever having to eat, sleep, do the dishes, leave the house, etc again). I've never seen a "perfect" RPG but I really enjoyed FF1 when it came out. 3 and 7 were also quite good. FF Tactics is also a good game. Less of a true RPG tho.

Guess we're not thinking about the same thing, then... Choplifter was where you flew your helicopter around to rescue people from the ground while blowing away enemy tanks...
Anyone remember the first shareware games? Commander Keen, Captain Comic, the original Duke Nukem, Jill of the Jungle, etc...? Those were so cool...
> I'm still waiting for the One True RPG to come to earth and free us all
We have to mix NWN and Morrowind... Or Fallout and something.... Yeah, Fallout - that's the closest I've seen to the one true RPG... An RPG that doesn't happen in a fantasy world and it caters to adults? Do tell!

D2? That was never suppose to be an RPG. It's
a survival-horror type game. I never played D2,
but D was really good. I loved it...
Unless "D" stands for something, and you're not
talking about the real "D" series... In that case,
nevermind.

OK, you win - in this case, by D2 I mean Diablo 2...

Perhaps your thinking of the Jungle/Desert Strike series
DiskJunky
I never really tried out the D or D2 series, they looked cool but I saw so much of the game at my friends houses there was no need. Besides, till now my poor old comp couldn't run half of the stuff.

1) Drakan: Order of the Flame (multiplayer rocks!)
2) Diablo2
3) Quake series
