The ONLY answer some1 else came up with was LC multiples. (120)...but this was obviously wrong.3,5,10,12 spoil his answer.

on a 4-bit machine using two's complement. A signed variable holding a binary value greater than 8 is negative. Add the 4 or 2, and you get 1 using two's complement. I think, you might get -1, I'm not sure...
