If you ever programmed in BASIC (or aslmost any other programming language, for that matter), ASP is easy as a flying .......... on a stick. Ok, that just didn't sound right...

As part of a university project, myself and a friend used Perl to make a website. We had an online chat room and a message board and everything it was really good. We had it on the uni server for a couple of months but then they became real arsey about students putting websites on university servers, so they removed it. Still got an A grade for the module though!!

Python is an interpreted object oriented language. I heard it is very powerful. I never used it myself, but a collegue of mine is very enthousiastic about it.

I know some Python. It's used as a server-side script, rarely to output html-code (like perl, php, asp, etc.), but mostly to do on-server operations, ie. at a webhost, when creating a new user, they have to make new folders and databases and stuff. It can also be used to make fully functionable programs, but it's not too popular for that. It's mainly used for unix/linux/solaris servers.

The syntax can be confused with delphi/pascal...

Yes, I did, but it was just a temporary one. It will be relieved by www.programmers-unite.com which will be finished sometime around August 10th. Please feel free to stop by.
