Now he and the Taliban rule with an iron fist - what they say goes. They are using the Islamic Religion to justify their beliefs and to keep people in check. Islam is not to blame! It has been manipulated and construed in such a way by the Taliban, so that it suits their purposes.

This is not a conflict of religion.

The UN, NATO, and the US are not out to get every Islamic man, woman and child. Whilst the Taliban may declare Jihad they have indeed taken the notion of a holy war in order to justify their actions.

It is a conflict of the haves and the have-nots.
The Taliban and Osama bin Laden are under the control of religion as much as their followers are. They are not simply using it as a tool to gain their subordinates' support and further their own secular goals. They act out of religious belief, not personal motivation.

Islam is not to blame; Islamic fanaticism is. But extremist versions of religions are still religions.

They aren't under the control of anything except their own derision. Yes relgion is a part of their beliefs, but a religion doesn't make you do anything that you don't want to do.

I'll keep that in mind, at least up until the point where the religious nut cases get a nuclear bomb and blow me up.

Religion still makes people willing to do things no sane person would otherwise do, such as fly planes into buildings. Extremist versions of religions go so far to overwhelm an individual's capability for reason and independent thought that I think the word 'control' is quite appropriate. The fact that they think they 'want' to isn't very relevant; their concious desires have been overpowered by radical belief.

From your name I can tell that you are a religious fundamentalist terrorist from Afghanistan. Were you the one who told Bin Laden to leave? What did he say? Did he spit in your face?

Religion has lead the Afghans to put their women in slavery. Did you beat your wife today?

wars are stated for money and land...

    in ireland its about land

None of this is directly directed at the above author...

I have been hesitant to get into this one. Try not to see only the parts of history that fit into your own little viewpoint.

A lot of war is because of beliefs and not because of land. To say otherwise is to deny the truth. To say all war is due to beliefs is also to deny the truth...

The crusades were strictly fought to convert "heathens" to christianity by sword. They didn't take land... they didn't lay claim to fame or fortune. They proposedly killed in the name of God.

Do you remember where they went... into the holy land. Muslims have been in a belief war with Christianity for decades of centuries.

There are other wars... from Japan beleiving they were the inheritors of the world to Korean or Vietnamese government believing communism is a better belief system or institution than capitolism.

As for todays news... One of Bin Laden's top military advisors, an egyption, brought forth the true 'jihad.' A 'jihad' is a religious war. This is what they believe they are fighting.... down with the capolist christians and everything they stand for. Down with their buildings and way of life.

ON the other hand... I imagine during the crusades, the men were taking purses and people's wives. I imagine they ate mutton and gardens from the homes they destroyed. To say that they didn't gain monetarily or otherwise would be stupid.

In such a case though... it is merely a perk. It isn't the reason why....

sometimes you don't fight for your land, your property, your money, or your beliefs.... sometimes you just fight for your life.

(Let's not be so black and white on this people... there is no right, there is no wrong, there is no spoon)

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain... and most fools usually do." Benajamin Franklin
Exactly. Any fool can blame religion for the world's problems, any fool can codemn those whose beliefs they do not understand, and fool can complain about religion causing wars.

I'd like to say something here : What some muslim/christian extremists do isn't related to Islam or christianity. if you check both religions' teachings, you'll find that they urge for peace.

You won't find commandments in the Qur'an or bible telling muslims/christians to kill people of other religions, you'll find commandments urging them to live in peace with those who want to (but I won't quote verses here. If you want some tell me).

Those who blew themselves did so because U.S.A is very unfair with everyone here (except Israel).
They believe they're fighting tyranny. However, that doesn't give them any right to kill civilians.

I think they're wrong, and you're wrong too. Nobody's clean as he claims to be (not even me). We all like to play angels, but our actions reveal what we hide.

    ======================================
About this women thing : What taliban declared to be of Islamic traditions has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. All this nonesense about preventing women from education and keeping them in their homes. So please don't judge when you don't know.

BTW : How'd you know Osama Bin Laden did it? U.S.A is going to blow Afghanistan because Bin Laden is the 1st suspect? Why doesn't U.S.A give Taliban evidence he did it, and then they'll hand him (I think)?

From what I've read, someone used the pentagon's computer code to disable the air defense system. Bin laden (and we - arabs - are currently not enough talented/trained to make such an organized catastrophe)

Didn't you rush to blame Arabs for what Timothy McSomething (sorry, i don't know the spelling) had done before? And then you discovered it's an american extremist (Timothy) that had done it, and electrocuted him (as far as I recall)

We know it was Arabs. We have video tape of them getting into the plane. The took flight training lessons in the USA. We know who it is. Bin Laden should die as soon as possible.

Also I hate Israel. i want to see the place nuked. I don't care about any of those people, they are all insane. I don't help any of them!

The evidence is of the kind where by disclosing the source would lead to trouble. The US as had it's eyes on Bin Ladden for along time, he
has also already been convicted of other crimes.
At the beginning I though the Taliban would
hand him over but I don't think so.

Untrue. We scrambled the f15's to possibly shoot down the commercial
airliner in washington but too late.

The battle in Israel is not about ethnic cleansing. It is a religious war. I don't really care about it too much nor do I care who wins that war. As far as I'm concerned it would be fine if Arabs took over Israel. I hope that they can keep it too themselves. I don't want any part of that bull****.

The problem is that Arabs attacked the USA. Terrorists are a threat to North America and it's not about fairness anymore, although it appears that the USA and the UK are not just dropping bombs. I don't expect to see the taliban around any more though when this is over.

Bin Laden is a terrorist. He admits it. I don't trust the guy. It looks like they are going to kill him one way or another. I think he needs to die, but that is just the beginning. Every terrorist in the world needs to die. All terrorist camps on earth need to be destroyed. Any government that harbors terrorists needs to be destroyed. That's the nice way. We could use nuclear weapons but we aren't going to. But than again it could happen.

When you get rid of your stinking criminals than we all can have a good life. I don't see why the middle east can't become more technologically advanced and wealthy.

The USA will not be the richest country in the world by the end of the century. They are the richest country right now but many countries have become wealthy. I think it's time for you guys to go to work and join the free world. Don't take religion soo seriously because people go nuts over it and there is no need for that.

Also, there are plenty of poor in North America. If you get an opportunity to live a respectable life in your country than North America is no better.

Witch_King go to your local library - borrow the following:

The Bible
The Qur'an
10 Books on WWI
10 Books on WWII
10 Books on Israels political history
Once you actually feel you have a grasping of the history of the balkans and the middle east, come back. Then I'll have a serious discussion with you. Otherwise you can take your ignorant attitude and shove it up your ****ing ***
