You can go to this link for the redhat 7.3 and download the 3 iso image files.
If you want mandrake than go to the mandrake website and choose the download link. They are all free. Downloading Mandrake is the same as RedHat, you need to download the iso images and burn them to cd.

i was confused which to get(Mandrack or redhat).finallt i began to download redhat7.3........it ll be long time before its finished( i think it ll take me 3 weeks to download the 3 cd with my 56k modem) it ll be pain to wait all this time

Just don't download the SRPM images they are optional. That links takes you to 5 files and the 6th file is the MD5SUM. You only need to download the first 3 iso files.
It wouldn't be too much fun downloading with a 56k modem. I have a cable modem and it took me about 90 minutes to download each file.
I have not tried Mandrake yet, however they are probably quite similar (RedHat and Mandrake). If you didn't have such a slow connection than there would be nothing stopping you from downloading both, another interesting distribution is SUSE. At least from what I have read, it is more for the advanced Linux user.
I find RedHat good for learning on, there are a lot of books that conver RedHat. Make sure to include all of the documentation for the kernel and the various programming language manuals during the installation. I installed both KDE and GNOME desktops and made KDE the default. It seems to be the nicer of the two.

The C language was used for most of the software architecture. The desktops are written in C (GNOME) and C++ (KDE). All of the widely known professional operating systems of the world are written in C, MS Windows, UNIX, Linux, Solaris.
