I guess for humor's sake it works, but saying something like "how many apples do you have" after you've only said that you took 2 from 3 (what if all 3 were yours?) is rediculous...

6 was pretty stupid, because you'd assume the person would be smart enough to light a match, then you'e asking which of the objects you'd light first...Not to mention listing some objects, then asking which is generally meant to mean "which of the above"

    >>4) Divide 30 by half and add ten. What do you get?

see, you have to clarify half a bit better...

Sorry to nitpick, but some of the questions were trying to use this sort've reverse-logic and made logic errors within themselves...I hate when people think that they're amazingly intelligent by fooling people (not directed at you, however) and don't realize the fallacies (sp?) of what they've said.

Oh well, sorry to suck the fun out of everything...ever the nitpicker It serves you right for BUMPING the stupid post though.

Damn, and I felt smart after I took the test, 147 on iqtest.com, but I rushed through it, I swear . Seems like everyone's a genius.

But I'm not a genius, did I spell genius right?

True IQ tests have to be administered by a psychologist, they involve much more than answering text based questions and they take hours to complete.

I took one a while back and I had to do things like spot what's wrong in a picture, make certain shapes out of wooden blocks while being timed, and repeat long strings of numbers and words in the correct and reverse order that the guy just read off to me extremely fast.

These online test are good for their entertainment value and that's about it.

    huh

i got a "Primary School Pupil"

    1) I have no knowledge of that Noah question

But I still screwed the rest of them anyway

I took the IQTEST thing at the website and got a 152

    I wouldn't believe this even if i got over 180 .. it's
    all bull crap ...

some people are good in some aspects and the rest
    in some others.

Now the likelihood that you'll get the **** that you want
in those questions is what decides what your score
    is going to be.

All i say is, tell me your GPA (even this is not accurate, though)
(but atleast, *you* get to choose your courses so it should
    genuinely tell your intelligence/hardwork)

You should also consider the hardwork and dedication when
judging a person, this IQ thing is bull ****.

The most valuable person is one who can do anything given
to him, without whining or giving reasons. He doesn't show
likes/dislikes of the task. He is always dedicated to completing
the given task and never gives up.

    Blah.

Possible classes I could have taken my senior year of high school:

    Pottery
    Jewelry Design
    Silk Screen
    Personal Conditioning
Gym (I don't remember what name they gave that)
Marketing 2 (operating the school store... I actually did take that, but I ran the stroe as opposed to being a clerk or something)

What do you think my GPA would have been?

    err... 4.0

well, but you know what i actually meant there right ?

taking Pornography 101 (yes! it's there!!!!! in some schools)
just to increase your GPA won't help it... true..

    > Pornography 101 (yes! it's there!!!!! in some schools)

    Where?!?!

Seriously, though - GPA's are a bad indication of smarts... I know people with lower GPAs that me that are smarter than me - likewise, I know people with higher GPA's that I'm smarter than.

Maybe even saying that is inaccurate - there's no decent way to measure intelligence across the board - it's just too broad and there's so many things that could affect it come testing time.

    hmm

    >Where?!?!
Don't know the name ,but there are many schools..

there's definitely atleast 1 in TX

There was this girl in my sociology class.. she said her
    school has this course...

    >GPA's are a bad indication of smarts

it's true... but it will give atleast a vague idea of what
kind of person he is.. (committed to education or not,
hardworking or not, etc)... yeah, it could be inaccurate
too, but that's what they see in Harvard, remember ?
and it is also the convention... asking for GPA to judge
    a person's ability.

i personally have a different definition of intelligence (it's
a mixture of hardwork, sincerity, dedication and discipline).

iqtest.com is a commercial website, and don't believe a commercial site that tells everyone from Forest Gump to Britney Spears that they're genius, lol

I don't believe an individual's i.q. is static, I think it can be developed and improved over time. I also believe that your i.q. can decrease if your mind is never challenged. Something like programming that takes a lot of memorization and intellectual thinking will definately improve your i.q. *Although on a side note, I think an individual's i.q. can only increase or decrease a certain amount, and varies amongst anyone and everyone.*

But don't worry about how smart or stupid you are. If you can figure out how to program, then you're smart enough. And now (more than ever), society looks down on smart people, and highly upon good looking people. So maybe we should all rest our brains for a bit, and spend our extra time exercising, because it really doesn't matter.

    You're right..

that means those who got (or atleast said they got) high
scores gave these "ridiculously stupid" answers.

Oh, no... i am not trying to flame anybody... just ridiculing things
    to get some giggles

    as these questions have such
stupid answers, the test should be cancelled

The grading scale is also bull crap:
    8+ Engineer
    7 Student
    6 High school pupil
    5 Primary school pupil
    4 Teacher
    3 College lecturer
    2 University lecturer
    1 Member of Congress (lol)

    look at this...

5 is primary school pupil and 2 is university lecturer

(yeah, lecturers don't give such stupid answers)

but his assumption of hierarchy was that a primary school
pupil has a greater IQ than a university lecturer (forget the
member of congress for the time being)
    I don't buy that.
