Spill a bottle of Mountain Dew all over the last VT420 terminal keyboard in Canada. I did that the other day at work. The keyboard is toast, and now we have to swap keyboards from other terminals... If anyone asks, it was old and must have just blown up...
haha, get a y adapter... and also, tie that y to another y with the on-off switch to each computer... that way, you wouldn't need crouch and unplug all the time...

It's totally true, good thing my manager is considered a classic case of PEBKAC... (problem exists between keyboard and chair) I was sitting and talking to someone and I reached for my mountain dew (which was full) and I swear it wasn't in the same place I left it, so I hit it and if fell foreward onto the keyboard, half of it got into the keyboard, so I lifted up the keyboard and it was spilling out the sides. alittle papertowel dried up the mess around it, alittle lysol took off the stickyness...than it blew up.
That is definately a story to tell your grandchildren!

Spend 2 hours trying to sort out a problem on the project you're working on that has exactly the same symptons as the portability problem you solved last week and seems to be caused by running it on another new PC, but could be entirely caused by a plug not having a fuse fitted.

don't move your desktop without making sure that all the cables are out of the way. I have no idea what the plastic shielding on my keyboard cable did, since I've shredded it with the underside of my desktop and it still works fine.
Lead me not into temptation... I can find it myself.
weird how the clam chowder came into the conversation...
oh, and if i'm not mistaken [and i might be...] the shielding is to prevent interference with the device... for example, shielding and correct grounding on a guitar's pickup wiring...
