Workd when I changed the encoding (IE) to Unicode (UTF-8)
"Привет, Мир" - Russian
"Привiт, Свiт" - Ukrainian

Yup, above works in Unicode (not Western European)... only way I got it to work, the rest of Cyrillic would give me gibberish... oh well.
