Post some opinions on the use of VC++ vs. C# to totally re-write a UI intensive, fat client database app ( now in VFP ) using a SQL Server back-end. Our users will be disconnected 80% of the time from the server and host a local database ( Personal SQL , MSDE size limitation gets us ). Our app is currently 0% web enabled, but will probably incorporate the web into it in a couple of years to a small percent. Why would you use one over the other etc... Our taret is to start coding in late fall and have a beta out in 12-18 months. I have heard the Microsoft spiel I would like to hear from people who have used both.
