This week's rant - The clock is ticking.....

I've been off work this week, and my how the time has flown......

I cant believe I must go back to work monday and spend 8 hours of my valuable time doing something I'd rather not be doing.....

This week has been great - I go to sleep when I cant stay awake no more and I dont have to get up at any given time. I can then spend the day pottering about doing things I cant normally do..... It sucks that we must spend such a portion of our lives in work suffering so we can survive....... I wish I was a royal so I could spend my whole life sitting on my backside doing very little.....

I'm 25 now (give or take a month or two) so that means I have got 40 years til retirement....40 years....... By then I wont be in a position to enjoy myself anyway.......

Aha well..... few days to go yet......

At least I'm flying out to Amsterdam next month........ Something to look forward to......

What do you do for a living, Fordy? If you hate it so vehemently, why are you still doing it?

Lets just say the job I do was meant to be a temp arrangement..... 2-3 months I planned for......I had a real good job at the start of the year. I ran a small department and worked there since the company was set up last year. That job was great.... responsibility and loads of very profitable perks . Unfortunately, the company inherited a huge loss from a related company, and that eventually killed it....

I'm looking now, but jobs just arent biting at the moment. I turned down a job a while ago cuz I didnt feel as if it was right for me.....

    Maybe I was too picky......

Anyway, at least there's no pressure in this job...just utter boredom...... I frequently get tossed other bits of work from people I know and that keeps me focused and allows me to keep my cash levels good......

It will be sorted soon though :ray to god::

personally, my dream job is at Ensemble Studios.

They work from 9 AM to 6 PM on non-crunch days, so you can sleep in- you dont have to get up incredibly early.
    Clothing is casual.
    You get to make games.
    Good pay.

Now, what more could you want?

Speaking of witch I need to get craken on programming so I can do this. I've tried opengl w/sdl. Does any one know were I can find a dx tutorial. No need for 3d graphics. (gone throught sunlights). I am broke (and will be for the see able future) so I can't by a book.

40 years? sounds like a prison sentence, fordy. I know what you mean
about the time flying one week bit. That's why I take my
vacation all at once--four glorious weeks every summer. It's
beautiful, up until the last two days, then I get a little depressed.
But 40 years! omigod. The thought of it. I have 4.5 years
minimum 7.5 max to retirement. Eat your heart out boys and girls.
I'd put a smiley here or there, but I'm writing this using
Windows XPPro, and it's kind of weird. I mean it's really
really weird. I don't see the smileys you put in while you're
typing--only the message icons you use in the subject bar.
Colors everywhere. I need my sun glasses. I mean this stuff is
really bright. But I'm off topic. You're a young guy, Fordy; you
shouldn't be thinking of retirement yet--unless you win the
sweeps (put smiley here). Hope you do. At least you can hop
over to places like Amsterdam and Paree. And Rome. I wouldn't
mind that at all. Well, brush up on your Dutch or whatever, and
give my regards to Bidget Bardot, too. (smiley, smiley)

Well, why not post what else you thought you needed to know, and maybe he'll update it?

How would he see it he does not come here anymore (or maybe he is justing using a diffrent name *coughEsscough*)

Anyways I have learned things require reading and rereading to learn. I find it less tedias and easer when I get someone elses perspective instead of the same persons. It's a good tutorial and all.

    Fordy-
Run to your local record store and grab the CD "Attention Please", by Caroline's Spine... (If it's there...)

Listen to "Work Song".... I think you'll like it...

For that matter, anyone out there about our age (20-30) should go out and pick it up if you're stuck in your office job... Good CD...
