    Idea

You know what i was thinking? You know how there are those computer mice (Is that right???) that have the little thing where you can scroll the page up and down without moving the mouse? What if they had one that scrolled the page sideways?

    Hi!

So you want a mouse with integrated track-ball?
    interesting idea...
I have seen mice with two wheels, but both moved in the same direction.

That would be cool, but how many times is there a scroll bar at the end of the page?, I dont see why you would need it.

they should be parallel (vertical, like this: | | ) and they could scroll each way.

I'd like it to be eye operated. You know, the page scrolls as you look down it, blink to click, double blink etc.

Could it even be made to respond saracstically to stupid posts if I roll me eyes?? !!

I have actually seen some with them. The wheel is on the side of the mouse. However, I doubt most apps support the feature (not sure though).

I wonder why you would need a horizontal scrollbar in the first place... On the web, for one, it is preferred not to have those. What are the appliations that use these a lot?

Some pages are poorly designed and you have to scroll sideways. It is a pain because you have to do it alot when reading an article on a "wide" site.

My mouse has that. I don't use it very much though. The horizontal one is under the vertical one and it's kind of awkward to use.

My mouse already has a wheel & 4 buttons.

I have no idea what 2 of the buttons do, and when pressed something random happens. Unfortunately they are situated at the sides of the mouse, so it's virtually impossible to avoid pressing them accidently.

I don't want a mouse with any more daft gimmicks. Thanks.

Most of these types of mice come with custom drivers that allow you to customise the buttons.

For example, I have a side button that is configured to do double click (I only need to click once)

I thought it would come in handy for viewing web pages. I really don't know what apps use horizontal scrollers.

I think the scrollers sould look like an upside down T. The vertical one for vertical scrolling and the horizontal one for horizontal scrolling.

There already are some??! Where are they sold and what do they look like? I'm curious.....

first of all.... no.... impractical... if you need a horizontal scroller, it sounds like you might just want to GET A BIGGER MONITOR... it's rare to see a website that can't be seen on a 17" or even 15" with a decent resolution (1024x768).. most websites are built around those stats (and that's what mine are built around, coincidently). Besides, other than the few random sites that would actually need such a thing, it would be pointless, not cost-efficient for a company to waste engineering and materials on.

On pages that can be scrolled sideways, if you press the scroll button [the wheel] and then move the mouse to the side, then it auto. scrolls to that side.
