    grpahic next to board name

    there is a little sqaure icon next to the name of the board right on cprogramming.com/cboard sometimes they are lit up sometimes htey are dim. what do they mean

    They denote new messages....

    If it's "lit", there's messages in that forum that were posted since your last visit (and are hence deemed to be new).
    When all else fails, read the instructions.

    They show whether or not a new post as been added to that board since your last visit; if the icon is grey no new messages have been posted, if its yellow, one or more new messages have been added.

    And if you forget, or you find any other symbols like actually in the boards themselves, there's always a little key at the bottom.
