My kind of music is Rock, Heavy Metal style. It really charges you, can listen to it any time, any number of times.
Though I like some music on the softer side of it (like Pink Floyd), nothing to beat the Harder side. And guess what??? I was in the Roger Waters concert in India, was AWESOME, was a chance of a lifetime, can never forget that concert. Didn't need drugs to put you high!

I listen to about everything.
But among the favorites...
Classical music. No doubt about it.
I'm very found of trip-hop. Bands like Hooverphonic, Massive Attack, Portishead and Sneaker Pimps. I'm also into early gothic like Bahaus and some Nick Cave.
Also composers/players like Astor Piazzola, Al Dimeola, Carlos Paredes, Vangelis...
Dig Jazz, some Blues.
Also very found of experimental music and blues fusion. Tom Waits rules!
And I could go on forever...

I'm a real country fan. It's a funny story really. When I was a kid someone set my radio to a country station and I didn't know how to change it. I guess I just learned to love it.
I also like bands like matchbox twenty, barnaked ladies, great big sea, lifehouse, default, train, our lady peace, etc. Music is a great thing.
I usually just turn on the radio and listen to whatever is playing, although I like to listen to my mp3s too. I guess my favourite bands would include: Live, Incubus, Guns and Roses and Nickelback.

I've been listening to a lot of Australian stuff lately, like Hillsongs, United Live, etc.
I love Great big sea. The newest albume is great. A canadian friend toke me to one of there concerts 2 years ago and ever sense that day I been hooked. I hope they will come back to Portland in Aug. If not I am going to Boise to see them. I will check out some other bands on your listOriginally posted by NinetyFourGirl

Mario,
is Massive Attack really trip-hop?
maybe some of there stuff, but most of it really doesn't qualify.

I listen to almost everything. There is no specific style or band which I like most.
our lady peace is now overcommercialized.
Dream Theater is pretty much all i listen to these days...
I don't really listen to anything specific... Right now, I'm listening to the new Our Lady Peace CD (I don't give a rat's ass - overcommercialized or not - I still like their music. Come to think of it, what band ISN'T overcommercialized? I mean, c'mon - what's more commercial than a record company? Listen to the Tool song "Hooker with a penis" - you'll know what I mean)
Fave bands include - Live, DMB, Incubus, Caroline's Spine, Tool, NIN, Nonpoint, Dashboard Confessionals, Verve Pipe, Earshot, Metallica, most rock, but I also enjoy classical, some rap, and some country.... R&B, in general, sucks pig balls, and I can't claim to be a fan of any R&B song I've heard in awhile.

All kinds of music. it depends on how I feel.
But most of the time I listen to some techno.
also some lounge music. Haven't heard alot of that but it's not bad.
Sometimes I listen to classic music mostly when I'm having exams (like now). It helps me relax. my favourite: Beethoven's Moonlight sonata
no-one, I like your avatar (looks like a moby figure)
You're dead right. They started out to be trip-hop. In fact they were one of the founders of the style and the most influential. (Portishead are big fans of earlier MAssive attack).Originally posted by no-one

But alas! They are themselves heavily influenced by experimentalist hip-hop. And most of their songs nowadays are anything but trip-hop.
But if you listen carefully to Hooverphonic for instance... better yet, try Sneaker Pimps or even Tricky (former massive attack member) and you'll notice the same hip-hop trend. I guess Trip-hop was an accident when Massive attack launched BlueLines. A good accident, if you ask me
