    Thank god for CTRL_ALT_DEL

I just watched Kubrick' s 2001 again this afternoon. I wonder how much that film has contributed to the fear that many people have of computers (IE my Mum - Queen of Solitaire but lives in fear that the PC will one day bite).

In that film HAL has control over everything on the ship. Can you imagine giving this responsibility to say.......M$, Caldera, IMB, Symantech??????????

    .....Well maybe Powerquest .....

Perhaps it has contributed a little, but I would say people in general have a fear of what they don't understand.

Reminds me of a comic I saw a while back. After that russian chess champion (can't remember his name) resigned to Deep Blue, he was holding the power cord for Deep Blue and saying checkmate.
As long as computers have a on/off switch and can be beaten with an axe I'm not scare.

How much do you want to bet that the Keyboard itself would eventually crew up as well?
