    Does anyone know the reason that QWERTY calcs are banned from the tests? What is the real advantage of on like that, it's a pain in the butt yet still possible to type it one the regular one... also, I think that 92 has the same functions/software as the 89 just different hardware, not sure though.

    It is interesting to note College Board's policy on the AP Calculus exam: the TI-89 is permitted, but not the TI-92. For them, exam question security is a large issue, and machines with a QWERTY keyboard permit fairly easy transcription of test items.
    Some tests are starting to disallow the TI89, too, because of its symbolic manipulation capabilities.
