Israel/Palestine
India/Pakistan
US/Al Qaeda
Don't care
I'm just wondering wondering what people are watching (or reading) in the news. No one seems to be talking about Israel or Osama anymore, only India-Pakistan.
Let's see:
India vs. Pakistan- Want to fry each other with nukes.
Israel vs. Palestine- Want to blow up each other with suicide and tanks.
U.S. vs. Al Qadea (or whatever)- want to blow each other up with planes and bombs
Basically, they're the same thing just a matter of how you wanna die. I know this sounds kinda rude, but if you think about it, the problems are truly the same. One doesn't accept the other and they can't be nice and share (feels like I'm talking to 2 year olds).

I am sorry but I don't think that Qaeda has any intentions of being nice nor share.........well geezzz would you really want to accept some terrorists that hate you, I don't know it's so hard to decide, (SARCASM)

You are missing the point. It isn't that they hate us. Why do they hate us?? If they don't like what we do, we shouldn't force our ideas onto them.
wow. conflict. big whoop.
our war against al queda hasn't garnered much press recently. the israel and palestine issue is heating up again, and the india and pakistan issue...
i can't really judge any of these as more important. (though i voted for israel/palestine). they're all interconnected.
Well I guess neither's more important, but it might be nicer to focus most of your attention on the crazy people who'd be forced to use their nuclear weapons if the other tried invasion....just a thought....
Israel/Palestine gets more ongoing attention in the US press. India/Pakistan is more current given their nuke capacity, but rightly or wrongly, most don't believe it'll come to that, and regard the base issue as irrelevant/none of our business/nothing we can solve, etc.
US v Al Qaeda, big but amorphous, nothing happening lately, fading into generalities.
One thing all these conflicts, and others like them, show is that terrorism can't be fought by conventional military means. In some cases, terrorism is an illegitimate response to legitimate grievances, and in other cases seems to be driven more by religious/political/ethnic/ideological fanaticism (which may have been inflamed by real or perceived grievances, but is divorced from any reality on the ground today).
Israel/Palestine is a classic example of the first case. Al Qaeda is a good example of the second case. What both have in common is that traditional military/economic/etc crackdowns have the effect of re-inforcing support for terrorism. Organized terrorist groups know and exploit this.
The solution to the first case has to be political. The second case I don't know the answer for.
Truth is a malleable commodity - Dick Cheney
Whoever voted for US/Al queda is a complete moron. One event occured, and quite frankly, I don't think the public has proof that Bin Laden was behind this. FBI, CIA, and other government agencies feed the media information, and we take it as true. Osama will probably be dormant for a while, so we can put him in the back of our minds for now.
Nuclear war is BY FAR the most important issue here. If one side shoots some off, they have no choice but to go all out. The other side does the same. I am not sure what China will think about this nuclear war on its border, and a chain reacion will start causing WWIII, and ultimately destroying the world with hydrogen bombs. Of course this is the worst case scenario, but this has potential to kill us all.
Israel and Palestine is a large conflict, but I don't think it has the potential to end the world. The area is so small that not too much harm worldwide can come from it. Neither side will give in any time in the near future, hopefully they will run out of suicide bombers. The Al Queda crap is just overblown. One isolated incident. He runs away and Al Queda is damaged greatly. The axis of evil sound similar to the evil empire. They're both just aliases that refer to all the people we don't like and we kill them just to satisfy the American public.
I'd have to say that the conflict between India and Pakistan has got to be the most important.
We are dealing with two nuclear powers, who are getting ready to go to war, not to mention that Pakistan will use nuclear weapons with any sign of aggression. They have lost every war with India so far, and aren't about to lose again. We can't let people with impared judgement unleash nuclear weapons upon each other, because that would mean the end of thousands, if not millions of lives.
That's what I think, even though the other conflicts are also very important.

The area may be small, but the impact will be large. Not only because the Middle-East is one of the main oil supplyers in the world.
Note that if a war comes between Israel and Palestine, it may be a reason for many anti-Israel groups and some Arabic countries to attack Israel. What will Egypt do? Or Iraq? Since the location of such a war is in one of world's main oil fields, what will the US, Europe and Russia do?
Just one small scenario. Assume that Saddam says the war between Israel and the Palestines is a reason to attack Israel. This may be a reason for Bush to attack Iraq and kill Saddam. Now Osama, who certainly has power, says it is another attack of the USA on muslims and that the USA wants to take control on Arabic countries. Well, what will happen then?
So a war between Israel and Palestine may have an huge impact too. All those conflicts mentioned, and many more which are not mentioned, may have an enormous impact on the world.
Israel vs. Palestine is more important than U.S. vs. Al Qadea because U.S. vs. Al Qadea is an extension of the former. Without the Israel conflive I do not believe the Al Qadea conflict would exsist.
Hmm... which do I follow the closest? I don't. I got sick of it all a long time ago.
I like this quote though:

Take an act of greed and a tortured soul
Place them together in the crucible
Take two men of different faith
And a scrap of earth they call their place
War is the mixture you now create
i'll tell you what i find the most disgusting about the israeli-arab conflict - everytime arafat said the violence will not end until there is a full-withdrawal of israeli forces from palestinian territories...THAT was admitting guilt...that he was in fact an accomplisssssss sp to the homocide attacks. & the world ignored that blatant fact...that arafat was behind the killing. i.e. in full support of hamas.

Wow, I'm surprised, I thought India/Pakistan would win because its potentially the most devastating to the rest of the world.
